Overview:
This topic was fascinating and challenging for me at the same time. I tend to struggle with technology, but I am eager to learn technologies I can add to my classroom one day. I am also quite bad at drawing, which made sketchnoting very hard for me. Being introduced to the SAMR Theory and TPACK model will make it easier to know when to use technologies in my classroom.
SAMR:
The SAMR theory will help me evaluate possible technologies I could use in my classroom. The theory shows each level a technology could be placed in, from simply replacing something to entirely modifying it. Identifying which level a technology falls under will help me know if it is worth the money and time to get that technology in my classroom. I found a website with a sketch note of SAMR, which my professor especially liked. I find it to be a good representation of SAMR theory.
TPACK:
The TPACK model could help me select the most appropriate tool or technology to help meet my learning objectives. Although I like the SAMR theory, the TPACK one is all connected rather than separate levels. This could be an excellent method to follow as there is more to consider when deciding on a technology. Considering both models when evaluating a new technology for my classroom would be very beneficial.

Sketchnote:
Sketchnoting is a fun way to take notes. However, it is not my favourite way to take notes as I am horrible at drawing. This could be a good substitution for the traditional way of taking notes for students who like drawing, are new to the language, or can’t write yet. Being able to draw very universal symbols is more accessible as more people can participate. Although sketchnoting is not a method I would choose, I could easily add it to my classroom for students who like it.
Here is a photo of the sketchnote I created based on our inquiry assignment!
