New skills:

This week, I worked on strumming my Ukulele. I researched what fingers I was supposed to use and how to approach it. I read that the most common way to strum was by using one’s thumb. Ukuleles are made of nylon, unlike guitars, which are metal. This is why you must be gentle when strumming a Ukulele. I found this information in an article by Fender called “How to Stum a Ukulele for Beginners.”

Practice:

I’ve realized that a Ukulele comes out of tune quickly. I have been re-tuning my Ukulele for almost every use. This has forced me to become more adept at tuning faster and more accurately as I’m getting used to the practice. This week, I focused on strumming my Ukulele. Hopefully this will help me when I start to learn a song.

Video:

Below, I’ve included a video of me explaining how to use the tuning app. I demonstrate by tuning my Ukulele.
