Goal of the Week:
My goal this past week was to master the placments of my left hand on my Ukulele.
Practice:
These past couple weeks have been challenging and honestly a little discouraging. I thought it would be a lot easier than it was to learn the finger placements. As I’ve mentioned in past blogs, I have long fake nails which keep getting in my way. I decided to remove these nails in order to be more successful at learning the Ukulele. This did dramatically help the situation. However, I apparently have horrible finger eye coordination. I managed to figure out each cord, it just takes me a longer time to switch between cords then how fast the song is. I’ve been working through the lesson on the UkuleleGo website. It has a link to the song sheet for the song I am attempting to learn. It clearly shows when to switch cords by following the lyrics in the song. Here is a link to the song sheet “I’m Yours.”

Here are the cords I’ve learned:
I really love this diagram of the cords I need. The article from Beethoven at home, explains what each colour and number represents. The green strings should not be touched at all, the numbers are which finger you should be using on that string. 1 = pointer, 2 = middle, and 3 = ring. This information was extreamly helpful to me. Heres a link to the diagram explanation on the website I found this from.
Now that I have the placement of each cord, I need to get the speed. This is what I will be working on next.
